Plan your Wedding Day at Niagara Parks for Reception and Ceremony venues like no place else on Earth!  Here are the answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions about our indoor and outdoor Ceremony sites and Wedding Reception venues:

GARDEN CEREMONIES

What is included with the permit fee?
The permit fee is for the ceremony site only. You need to provide an officiate, chairs, tables etc. We can provide you with our preferred service provider’s list.

Are rice, confetti or bubbles allowed?
Rice and confetti are not allowed, however bubbles are. Rose petals are allowed if they are picked up afterward.

If we are renting a tent and chairs, do we get more time for set-up and take down?
The 2 or 3 hour time period allows for setting up a tent, chairs etc. Tent and chair rental companies are very familiar with our grounds and time allowances.  You must have approval from The Niagara Parks Commission to put up a tent so include that in your permit request.

Can I put a tentative hold on a ceremony location?
On-line booking of a ceremony site is confirmed with payment. It does not allow a tentative hold.

What happens in the event of inclement weather?  Historic Queenston Chapel
You should always have a back-up plan in place. The Queenston Chapel is an option, to book as a back-up to an outdoor site. The fee is $300.00 plus GST and is non-refundable. Tenting is another option and sometimes your officiate may have a back-up plan for you as well.

Can we drive on the firelane at the Botanical Gardens to transport people closer to the site?
You may drive on the firelane to drop off some guests. We do require a record of the license plate number and make of the car. No vehicles are to be parked on the firelane

Is there free parking at all of the ceremony sites?
All have free parking with the exception of Oakes Garden Theatre and the Floral Showhouse.

Are the ceremony sites closed to the public? 
No the site is still open to the public, however when people see a wedding going on they usually watch from afar and respect your privacy.

INDOOR CEREMONIES

What is included in the rental of the Queenston Chapel?
You will have access to the Chapel for a 2 hour time period. If you would like to bring in some flowers and decorations, it must be done in the 2 hour time allowance.

Can I provide my own music for the Chapel service?
Yes, you can bring in musicians, play music or use the Chapel’s organ.

Is there air conditioning in the Chapel?
No, however there are ceiling fans inside the Chapel.

Do I need to make an appointment to view the Chapel?
Yes. You can request an appointment for a site visit by emailing
weddings@niagaraparks.com

Are candles allowed?
Enclosed candles only are permitted.

Receptions

Does our outdoor Ceremony site fee get waived if we book a reception with one of your NPC venues?
Yes, if you book a reception of 30 people or more, the fee is waived.

Are all facilities wheelchair accessible?
All are wheelchair accessible except for the Commissioner’s Quarters at Queen Victoria Place and the Queenston Room on the lower level of Queenston Heights Restaurant.

Can we ask the Chef to customize a menu?
Yes, 99% of reception menus are customized to your liking and budget.

Do you have an all inclusive package for alcohol?
No our alcohol charges are based on consumption. We find that it is less expensive for the couple this way.

Can we bring in our own wine and pay a corkage fee?Elements on the Falls Restaurant
This is on a request basis with the restaurant.

If we wanted to book one of your restaurants for our reception, is the venue closed to the public?  
The restaurant can be closed to the public for your privacy, as long as a minimum food and beverage expenditure is guaranteed.

How much of a deposit is needed to reserve our reception date?
A non-refundable deposit of $750 or 10% of the guarantee spend, whichever is greater, is required at the time of booking

What is the payment structure?
A deposit is secured and one month prior to your wedding a 50% deposit is due. The remaining balance is due the night of the event.

Are Friday nights and Sunday afternoons less expensive?
At certain locations, yes.

Do you have hotel rooms available close by?
Yes, we do partner with various hotels. You can check availability to book your rooms through our website at

Is there a Shuttle service?
Yes, we can arrange for a shuttle service to escort your guests to and from the hotel to the reception.
